SARAH HATHORN
After spending over 20 years in the fashion industry as a Store Manager for Federated Department Stores (Macy’s/Bloomingdales), I was ready to embark on a new career adventure. I always knew that I had a passion for fashion, which led me to my successful retailing career, and I knew in my new endeavor that I needed to incorporate my strengths and gifts of my previous position. Upon analyzing the facets of the job that I loved, I determined that dressing men and women to look their absolute best, providing leadership and team building seminars and developing retail executives for greater career advancement were at the top of my list.
I did some research on the Internet, and I had found that a professional career in image consulting would be the perfect fit for my skills and abilities. From my research, I also heard about Lynne Marks at the London Image Institute, so in February 2006, I called her to get her counsel and advice. After I spoke with Lynne, I immediately enrolled in the upcoming March class of the Executive Course. Attending the Institute and my long-term relationship with Lynne was the best business decision I have made in my second career. Her class taught me more specific image techniques to use in all facets of image consulting, including visual, verbal and non-verbal presence, as well as training curriculums for corporate image seminars. The knowledge, tools and information provided in this course have been invaluable and continue to be so today.
I started my own company, Illustra Image Consulting in Atlanta, Georgia in March 2006 upon my graduation from the Institute. Highly motivated and inspired, I immediately started attracting clients and got hired for my first corporate image branding seminar a few months later. Her course prepared me to feel confident in taking and passing the AICI FLC exam in May 2006. I continue to work with Lynne in her new graduate courses, and recently graduated from the Image Bootcamp Course in October 2007.
Today I am a Certified Image Consultant and the President of the Atlanta Chapter of the Association of Image Consultants International. Through my company, Illustra Image Consulting, I help professional individuals create a stylish and powerful presence to reach their ultimate potential. The company also provides corporate image services to organizations that wish to enhance their corporate brand within the marketplace. Illustra has served numerous individual clients and worked with many large companies on professional presence and branding seminars.
I clearly attribute my personal growth and my organization’s success to Lynne Marks and the London Image Institute. Through her classroom instruction and coaching she prepared me to be years ahead in starting my company. Today I could not imagine starting an image consulting company without Lynne’s insight and support. She truly is a master in the industry and she keeps her training workshops and materials on the leading edge.
