"From the moment I returned from London Image Institute in June 2007 it has been full steam ahead. I must say that London Image Institute has given me the information, skills, and the confidence to accelerate my progress.
The most important thing I did was get my website up and running. It proved to be one of my most effective and credible marketing tools and it generated inquiries right away.
Networking in my community has been one of my biggest allies. The business section of my local newspaper, The Enquirer ran a small blurb about launching my business and clients started calling me immediately. Through a great networking opportunity (at my children’s school) I got to know the editor of the business section of The Enquirer who wanted to hear about my business and asked me to write an article! I am no journalist and was really nervous about it but wrote something anyway. Image Rules debuted several months ago and it is still going really well. Due to the success of Image Rules, I am now launching Manners that Work: Dining Etiquette for the New Millennium, a business etiquette lunch program, sponsored by The Enquirer.
I found that we should never underestimate how effective pro bono work can be either. I began to donate my time and skills to Dress for Success which has helped to promote my business. I was asked to be a guest on a radio talk show, Amy's Table: A girl's guide to living. That also generated much interest.
Within a few months of attending London Image Institute I was able to give two professional presentations to Fortune 100 companies: one to the National Sales Leadership Team of Ethicon Endo-Surgery, a division of J & J and another to a division of Procter & Gamble. Luckily I have been asked to do more presentations for both companies including their national training meeting in a few months.
I started doing individual consultations right out of the course! I found that the workbooks, customized to my company logo were extremely useful and I was thankful that I didn’t need to recreate the wheel. My husband was also a huge help as he gave my services as Christmas gifts to some of his employees.
Starting my image business has been fun and rewarding. I can safely say that without the London Image Institute training, I would not have been able to forge ahead this fast!"
